Why am I up so late?

To mend these shorts before ~C!! I win! HAHA I would never mend them except...I HAD to. He complained that I never do any sewing for him, and in front of dear friends(her he complained too, poor guy)! So, because I am a rad wife (and my dear friend is taunting me) I fixed them just now! Before you!!

Huge rip. So huge, I had to put some other fabric behind it to fix it. Lots of other fun sewing has been happening...Nearly half finished quilting a nephew quilt, chose a softie, pieced some blocks from old pants(RAD old pants, I'll show soon!) AND...baking! 3 batches of muffins today that I'll freeze after breakfast! and tomorrow I freeze up my first 2 Thanksgiving pies!(blueberry and peach-raspberry!) YAY!!!

Polka crosses

YAY!! this is the finished quilt for my little nephew. I'm so excited to give it to him. It's heavily inspired by this quilt (beautiful, isn't it?)I saw on Flickr. I'm so very pleased with it! And... I machine quilted it in the ditch with my walking foot! I love my walking foot. There are no puckers in this quilt because of it's wonderful technology(I'm sure it's simple mechanics, but for all I understand it's magic)

Tuesday's story/art time was fun! I think I miss school a little. I love circle time. And art.

I tried to make the paint textured by adding things like salt, glitter and coffee to the paint. Salt made the paint curdle. ew(but cool) the glitter didn't show, but coffee in the brown paint is fuzzy looking! yay (I knew the coffee worked, 'cause I've done it before)

and...I made a card today!

mine is the small one. It's Dorian the Dog from my new Softies Kit! I think he's cute.

What no pics of finished projects? That's right. My life is full of other things and my quilts-in progress are still in progress. Ah well, I'll get there. Soon, I hope because My list of things I'd like to make is growing!! I started my Christmas gift making list the other day, too.(because it's time to think if such things!) Maybe Thursday or next week or next year at this rate! I could show you all the beautiful new fabric and books I've been given and bought since May...but, I must make breakfast for my hungry boys.

Over at Old Red Barn she is offering another gorgeous quilt for a drawing. It really is beautiful! go look!
