Sometimes I Embroider

Not much. I love looking at embroidery and am easily impressed by other's embroidering work, but i just don't have the eye for designing my own, or for anything elaborate. So, I really like red work (in any color, really) and I think I should try to incorporate more red work into my to-make list...

I did make this, from here (her embroidered quilts are amazing!)

And started these (her blog is lovely!)...

Someday I'll post a finished object. Right now I need to wash a mountain of dishes and laundry. Woe is me.

My books are here!

Hooray! I have a lot of crafty reading to do now!!

These are the books I requested the library purchase! the other two were next! Do you think I'll actually sew anything from them? But I'll look at them and think about it a LOT!!

Sometimes I go outside

Like today. Beautiful. We went to the Theler Center in Belfair and did the wetlands trails.

It was an easy hike and all the trails are boardwalk or flat gravel/dirt. I think it would be a great quick daytrip for little ones and strollers. Our crew ranged in age from 11-5 and they all had a great time. There are lots of benches along the way and a small picnic area just before the end. It's a beautiful day! If you hurry you can make it out and have a pic-nic dinner.

Just wanted to share.

with a deadline!

finished!

I finished the pleated beauty handbag from...Bend the rules sewing (shocking, I know)
Next time I will put in another set of pockets on the other side, too. I am using it for my work bag right now.

And...Speaking of work:

I love this book! It is fun and full of iteresting but simple information. I used it for story time, put it in the library center next to a bowl of real snail shells (from escargot we actually ate) and some plastic snails. Though I think I was much more excited about the experience than my students. they prefer ACTION!! and the display was overlooked.(except the real shells, the "robbers" hid them in the blocks)
